It’s really difficult to get good pictures of clear resin. I’ll have to throw a coat of grey gesso on after curing so all the surface detail can be seen (and there’s a lot of it).

Also, I thought I hollowed the model, but it turns out I used the wrong copy so he printed solid… Oops. He still came out beautifully. I’m super impressed with the FunToDo Industrial Blend.

What printer are you using?

This is with the YHD-101 - I have a couple writeups of my experiences so far with it here: https://bairdlabs.wordpress.com/2017/03/16/yhd-101-part-1-unboxing-and-digging-in/

and here: https://bairdlabs.wordpress.com/2017/03/27/yhd-101-part-2-printing/

I actually kind of like the glassy goodness of the picture that does not contain a person’s hand. It would probably not look as good if you did have it hollow with infill.

Unfortunately the surface of the resin frosts a bit as it finishes curing. It looks even glassier before removing the excess resin clinging to the surface:

This is very cool. Nice work. Being a bit of a photographer, maybe i can help with the photos. I believe the trouble with your images is that light is passing thru it from to many different directions, creating shadows and highlight in distracting places. Try taking a photos in front of a black background / black piece of paper, or photographing with the piece laying flat on a black sheet of paper. A bit more complex, but far more interesting, get a small cardboard box, spray paint or line the inside black, place the box on its side facing a large window, and put your piece inside. Then rotate the box and change the angle of light entering the box and covering your piece as you take pictures. The black box will eliminate light bouncing around, and with a little experimenting you can find something that works. Anyway…nice work… hope i helped a little.
