The @Ultimaker (1) still has some pretty amazing print quality! Aside from some minor ripples (jerk was set a bit too high), these prints are as close to perfect as i’ve seen.
And this is with zero machine calibration (aside from what @Nils_Hitze modified) and absolutely stock Cura settings for the UM1.
Hats off to the expert builders at @3dDinge_UG and the Ultimaker team.
My big Mendel90 suddenly feels super inadequate…
I’ve been wanting to build myself one from scratch for years. The configuration just looked right. Impressive shots. Maybe I’ll find the traction on this project yet.
@Morgaine_Fowle_de_la you might want ot look into @Tim_Rastall 's Ingentis: It’s a similar platform and a bit better suited for build one from scratch.
@Thomas_Sanladerer that’s wonderful, that looks like everything I could hope for- well, except for the blog posting talking about the build, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out!

@Morgaine_Fowle_de_la yeah, sorry about the blog. I have no spare time to finish it due to work and family. I recommend the Eustathios anyway, it’s a belted version of the Ingentis. I’ll invite you to the community we’ve have for builders. You’ll find Los of people to help with a build there.
