#Motedis_kossel is every day better! Thanks to @Mauro_Manco help (and wheels)! Now almost every pieces are made from laser cutted mdf. Ball joints are made with Ø9.52 bearing ball and Ø6 carbon tube; center-to-center 280mm.

What are you using for the ball sockets? Are those circular magnets inside? The build is looking really good so far!

The ball sockets are a round ring magnets, with countersunk hole.

For my experience, ball and round magnetic are a bad choice, the best choice is ball joint (traxxas)http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?I=LXHGB7&P=8

Bad experience…
The Traxxas ball joints are certainly more easy to assemble, but have backlash.
The magnetic joints can have problems if the magnetic force is too low.

I have heard that trick with traxxas is to freeze the ball, while boiling the nylon end, then carefully fit the cold ball into the warm holder in a vice. My backlash seems quite acceptable, and motion is fairly free.

Where did you get the balls and magnets? And how are the balls attached to the tubes?

@Thomas_T_Sorensen the balls are from a bearing, the magnets are this http://www.ebay.it/itm/10pcs-N50-Strong-Disc-Neodymium-Rare-Earth-Countersunk-Magnets-12-x-4mm-Hole-4mm-/331210694538?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d1db21f8a For attach the balls I have used a UHU two-components glue.
