Pencil and paper test of Shapeoko 2 1000mm x 1000mm build. Next comes attaching the quiet spindle.

It looks fantastic @Bruce_Lunde . One thing that working on an open build ox has taught me: two 2040 a 4040 does not make. There is a small gap as the two beams bow out.
very nice!
Hi
Very neat setup.
What size is the quiet spindle?
My Shapeoko2 standard is arriving by tomorrow! I also want to get the upgrades. Keep in touch with the experimentation. I am looking to do ply, plastics and thin aluminium plate.

@Grant_Macaulay I will have to check, they have a package called “The Works” that included this spindle.
They do not sell that directly in the UK. They only have the Full Kit. It has arrived. Can’t wait to get into it!!
@Grant_Macaulay - I will let you know this evening, I expect to get it wired in and perhaps even “make some wood chips”!
It would be good to know how well the quiet spindle operates.
I will publish another youtube once I have the spindle installed, I checked the Inventables site, the spindle I received looks to be 300w with 48 VDC power supply.
@Dat_Chu you are correct, I found in the forums, most people are placing a spacer block to keep aligned and a screw to keep it from flexing as you noted, so I will be adding that shortly!
I recently found out that mine flex as well. I will be drilling through them and add a bolt and screw to attach them together.
My gshield came defective, the Z axis won’t go up not down, invents led sent me another one, I hope this fixes the problem… Anybody had this similar issue?
