Pictures and models for the printer I am working on. 24"x24"x24" Outside Dimensions.

Nice work. Looks very strong. What printed those plastic parts?

That looks like machined delrin or abs, but the hex holes say that they’re printed.very nice. How are the bearings working on the carbon fiber rods?

Bearings work great… But sensitive to misalignment. Rods are ceramic coated aluminum. Coating per the spec is 70+ Rockwell for good wear… And the rods are stiff as heck. It helps that the rods are 1/2".

Printed parts are off my friends Prusa I3 with a wades extruder and J-head in 1.75 filement abs.

Anyone want the model in another format let me know. Its native solidworks 2013… But I saved it out as a single .step in the earlier post for convenience.

Just wanted to add a few versions of the model for anyone who might want to play.

@Eclsnowman , so hard anodized aluminum rod? IMHO, a much better choice than the carbon fiber. If you still have problems aligning, you can try using just 3 bearings per axis, which will somewhat remove the over constraint.

I am thinking about making that printed part 2 piece so I can print the bore vertical to hold better tolerances.

@Eric_Moy I think you are confusing this build with another :p.
