PLAdium (PLAtinum?) filament from @Tom_Martz (Taulman) - Stuff prints just like our other PLA but is a bit stronger. No stringing at all. Haven’t had much time to print more, but hoping to soon.
As always, an engineering plastic. Sorry about the dirty desk.
So far, prints just like any other PLA I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I like it a bit more than “arc-bio”. Had to bump up my temps by about 5C, as it seemed a little stickier but otherwise the stuff is great. No warping, layer adhesion was strong.
What else should I print in this stuff? I’m having a hard time picking something that shows off the characteristics of this filament.
Nice Print. Seeing a lot of ‘special’ additives for PLA being released. I have tested a few, most seem to make it stronger, even less warp, nothing yet has changed the standard glass transition temperature. It would be nice to see some higher temperature PLA.
@Richard_Horne
Protopasta has a higher temp PLA. There are other higher temp resins too. Beyond that, I wonder if there’s a point in holding out such hope. There are other materials to use.
@Richard_Horne post a conversation I had the other day, I believe your wishes will soon be granted. Can’t say much more as it is not my product to talk about, but sounds very promising.
