Played with Laser etching pumpkins this morning. Learned that you do want a bit of power to ablate the skin but too much and you burn the flesh. Also laser etched pumpkin smells like burning hair. Its awful.
I also used a 4" (101.6) focal length lens to help with the irregular surface and it made a huge difference.
