I am amused the article says you can play Tic Tac Toe without wasting paper. Now you can play using photo-polymers!
With some exceptions, the “3D pen” is a kind of item that’s bought, barely used and stored quickly. I haven’t seen what this really changes about that cycle.
I question calling photo polymers “safe”. This kind of plastic often has some questionable substances in them. The crowd source video showed children building things into their skin, that seems to be a bad idea. The crowdfund campaign didn’t give me much confidence they knew enough about chemistry to deal with it.
I would love to see a home/hobbyist grade 3D printer with this type of UV resin and inkjet print head. The commercial types of these machines can use ABS-like resin to produce detailed, strong, and temperature resistant structural components, like injection molds, that would be too difficult to print with the current generation of SLA printers.
Give me this, as an extruder addon. ffs.
@Michael_Hixenbaugh get that stupid fucking fud outta here. That’s bullshit.
@Michael_Hixenbaugh , propaganda much?
Of course e-cig smoke can contain Nicotine, that’s the point. The point isn’t that they’re “safe”. It’s that they’re a safer alternative to smoking plant based tobacco products. It allows the control of nicotine dosage and helps people eventually quit.
There’s no “technology” behind them. It’s literally a battery, and a coil.
In fact, most of this negativity towards e-cigs has been brought on by the tobacco industry. They want it regulated so they can better compete against it. Go check your silly PDFs for sources again, and look who paid for those studies.
Everyone knows “the risks” behind e-cigs, including the chemicals contained in them. VG and PG have both been used as preservatives, and PG is even found in vials of medicine as a preservative. Every day, people inject PG into their bloodstream. It’s a very well known chemical.
Passing off this “we don’t really know the risks” is a bunch of flat out bullshit. We know the risks. Is it “safe” from the sense of the purists view? No. It’s safER than having the hundreds of other chemicals that you would put into your lungs by sucking on a typical cigarette.
All you do by spreading these bullshit lies is stop people who legitimately want to lead a healthier lifestyle from trying an avenue that has led many I know to be able to quit smoking entirely.
@ThantiK
No, this is just a recent pet peeve of mine, but I didn’t appreciate the amount of profanity directed at me in the previous reply. Plus, now this post has gone entirely off topic.
Did you notice the only profanity I used in my last reply was the word “bullshit”? Sorry, but I’m going to call bullshit when I see it. Especially ignorant, scaremongering bullshit.
You left out your f-bomb and whatever a ‘fud’ is.
Fud = fear, uncertainty, doubt
