Pretty exciting news! I had recently been playing a lot with GRBL. I’ve been very pleased with @Roy_Cortes Panucatt M1 board as it has the capability to push my current CNCs. One thing that was missing was spindle speed control being perfect. After beating my head against the wall for a while trying to play with formulas inside an already tight area I had to reach out to @Sonny_Jeon the maker of GRBL.
Sonny quickly reached out, examined the problem and created an amazing solution.
It is now possible to control the spindle speed controller SMW3D sends out with the OX kit. It is really pretty close too and can be tuned in better than I did, but on the first run, 2000 to 12109RPM M3 S# relates to the real spindle speed.
The solution will be posted on the GRBL site soon. It uses a Python script that the user enters information to piece-wise fit and modify the PWM input. This will allow one to fully operate with M3 code and be assured the RPM is right on.
Keep an eye out on the GRBL site for this solution!
