Print stops randomly

My printer stops ramdomly printing. It happen after one hours or two, every minutes or so, then start again, then after a while stops again, etc…

I do not use SD card, I only print through USB connection to a Raspberry or a PC.

After checking the logs files from Repetier, I see at each pause time, an error Warning Communication error on the USB port.

So, as suggested in the FAQ, I did try almost every item (ferrite, replace USB cable, wires connected, etc, etc…), but none of them work, and still print hang ramdomly.

One thing though: If I do stop heating bed, then no more problems…

If you have any idea how to solve this, I would appreciate, thanks

Can you try putting ferrite on endstops, thermistor inputs, motor cables and heater cables ?
Also, are you sure your power supply is reliable ?
Is your printer larger than usual ?

Thanks for your answer.
This printer is normal size, Prusa like (220x280mm). Power supply is brand new, coming from Amazon (Lixada AC 110V/220V à DC 12V 30A 350W )
It’s a 350W, it should be enough even if a have a dual extruduer configuration. However I’ll check again tonight.
I may try ferrites on switches and motors and heater. I took care about cabling, tried various configuration already.

Is 250000 the “perfect” baud rate for those boards ?

So I checked power consumption , it never exceed 20A, so ît should be ok.
Then I connected an oscilloscope on usb signal between the board and raspberry, the signal is not clean, even when printer is not working.

ok, it looks finally the problem is fixed. What I did was:

  • update firmware to very last version
  • set comm buffer size to 127 instead of 64 (ping pong mode off)
  • move the bed wires even more away from the USB cable

Still I don’t know which one of those three did the job…

Hey there did you change these settings somewhere in your configuration or was it in promterface

I use repetier server and changed the parameter in the printer config of it
