printed a simple but improved spool holder last night:
A commenter on my last video suggested that I was grinding through filament due to the idler screw being too loose. I’ll try loosening that before my next print but thought I’d float the idea by a wider community: what do you all think? Should I just loosen it a bit or should I see if the spool holder mitigates the issue alone?

@Lukas_Mathis interesting. Ok I’ll be sure to keep some meaningful friction on the spool, thanks.
Too much friction really want my issue before though. It was the off center axis causing the spool to rock. That rocking was, i think, partly responsible for grinding.
Interesting side note: a lot of friction is also required for proper parachute deployment. Big change of topic, sorry, but it’s late here and your comment triggered a memory. Too little friction in the cord makes for a difficult jump.
