Printer rack space update, I LOVE IT!!! If you have multiple printers stacking them with sturdy wire shelves is epic. It’s the perfect wire routing and accessory attachment shelving and comes with ratings of weight per shelf since it’s used for commercial storage.
Hanging filament spools were so easy to make adjustable, interchangeable, and fit anywhere on the shelving. The uprights on this smaller shelf are 19.95mm just like the vertical extruder supports so all the attachments for that fit the shelving. Also means I have a lot of clamps already designed for the size.
RaspberryPi will go on the shelf/rack somewhere, set up octopi to be a USB backup control system. LED lighting will be designed and printed. Possibly a webcam. I love the possibilities the wire shelves allows. It reminds me of working with server racks.
I might get a taller shelf and install fireproof textiles around the sides and back and a window on the front. I can give it a metal hood vented out the top of the window behind, and maybe print ABS and other filaments that give off vapors. Not sure I want or need to print those kinds of filaments, but I would like the option to be there.
