Printing in ABS, I came back from my walk and the weapon arms of two of my three golems had failed to fill in over the external support and it was drooling spaghetti for those arms. With some plasticine modelling clay I tried rescuing support on the arms of those models. I want to at least prevent spaghetti dragging further into neighboring models, and possibly have enough of them for me to scratchbuild the missing weapon hands. Paused the print, cleared the mess, and shaped a ball of plasticine for each to have a flat top that aligned with the printing plane. One took on the first try, the other didn’t stay stuck well enough printing over the plasticine and was semi random for a few levels from dragging loose. After a second pause, and redoing the second plasticine support, both are printing well again for the remainder.

Well it helped for awhile, but there were failures on both further up where the arms got thinner. Drying of the clay from the heat might have been a factor, but I was out so I was not watching as the following failures happened. The modelling clay was quite dry and crumbly at the end from being in the relatively hot chamber (110 C heated bed).
