Printrbot Plus Overkill!

Much better than going big on the Z axis!

You could print one of those crazy late '90s super long pizzas whose promotional name I forget.

…or something useful, I guess… but why would you want to do that?

Sometimes I think you guys at Printrbot have too much time on your hands haha  I love it!

Hahaha! Hilarious!

Longboard production?

Now that it works… What should I print?

  1. Longboard
  2. ??

Wind turbine blades  It would be really cool to be able to print large enough blades to be able to make prototype shapes or even finished DIY blades for residential turbines.

I wonder how much you could actually print to make a working and durable turbine?

Longboard sounds good. But how will that work without a heated bed? Or do you have one hidden under there?

Long coffee stirrers. Swords. Bo-staff. Hand rail bannisters. Crown moldings. Baseball bats.

Update extruder > spindle and you have yourself a winner

You could print a strand of 3mm filament?

Or several strands, side by side.

O_o

@Matej_Rozman we have used the same drive gear for 4 years w/o any problems. We think it’s a perfect match

@Brook_Drumm I belive you 100%, but this size and extruder doesn’t match up. Milling in this domenziones it’s just…let’s say…space years ahead…put it in worp drive

@Brook_Drumm did I see straight? It’s the bot that is moving and not the bed ?

Yep. The bed is stationary. The bot moves
Bd

Love the concept. Will you release some drawing/picture of the mechanics of it ?

You could actually print some star wars - jedi lightsaber !

Oh
