Pro Mini Users:

I just ordered a Pro Mini for experimentation, except that I didn’t read this until just now from arduino.cc “SPI: 10 (SS), 11 (MOSI), 12 (MISO), 13 (SCK). These pins support SPI communication, which, although provided by the underlying hardware, is not currently included in the Arduino language.”

Is this outdated text or in fact does the ProMini not support SPI?!?!

Luckily, FastLED talks to the hardware directly, bypassing the arduino libraries entirely - as long as it is still 328/32u4 based, you should be fine.

What page specifically did you see that comment on, just so I can make sure what i’m seeing?

(FTR, I used arduino pro minis for a long time as the default for my project before moving to teensy 3/3.1 as my default)

Pro-mini works with fast led. My collars all work fine

As posted under the quasi-random section, I will not be using the FastLED on the SPI. So this basically means that I have to SoftSPI to my NRF24L01 radio…hmmm

I’d check on that, the page for the pro mini is fairly old, I’d be shocked if the arduino spi library today didn’t support the hardware spi device by now.

i’m pretty sure it’s fine, i’ve used pro minis with the SD lib that i believe uses spi and had no problems.

Im pretty sure it works, a few people have bought pro mini and used the nrf24l01/fast led/rfshowcontrol from pro mini.

Thanks for the assurance people. I use the arduino.cc site almost everyday and tend to follow their word as “the word”.
