Is that variable density pattern based on imagery, or manually created?
How did you do variable densities? Was it modeled with densities, or is there some slicer that I am not familiar with that has this option? I know changing densities as moving in Z direction is possible, but have not seen the option in the XY plane?
Its procedurally created from a scanned foot image.
Can you do a blog post on the process?
I’ve seen an app called Monolith. Was this used in the process?
@Temujin_Kuechle No, I used the open source Gimp, Inkscape and OpenSCAD.
@Scott_Darrow
He used Sli3er 1.17 and this tutorial. http://slic3r.org/blog/modifier-meshes
Steve Wood, Monolith is not open source, but it is a free to download and use.
Hi @Edward_Gommer , I am afraid you are wrong in this instance, I used Craftware to slice. The variable density was done in the CAD model.
@Steve_Wood_Gyrobot Thank uou, this was the info I was after from the very beginning. I was not sure if this infill density was modeled or if a slicer was used to vary the infill. Question answered now.
