Progress! It seems to be mushy near the top, as if it’s putting out too much filament so the layers get too tall as it goes up.

Did you measure your filament,

What do you mean? The kit came with 1.75. With a ruler that looks roughly correct.

To hot.

You’re going to need a caliper to calibrate your machine correctly. My Simple started out pushing ~6% too much filament, and the filament measured 1.85mm (~6% more volume per mm). That means it was pushing out over 10% extra plastic.

I use this one

Try to find one with at least .01mm precision. This will let you know if things are setup properly,

As @Carlton_Dodd pointed out a few tenths of a mm extra on filaments diameter can make the difference between a beautiful print and a mess.

I raised the layer height to 0.4mm and my extrusion factor is set to 0.2. Better but still not perfect. Then halfway through the build the piece stuck to the hot end and broke off the bed. :frowning:

yeah, if you are using repieter, try with your orignal settings, but adjust your flow rate to… lets say 80%

Your layers never get a chance to set before the next layer

Try printing two 2 inches apart from each other it and have it alternate models layer by layer.

It won’t solve all your problems but I’ve had less severe issues like your largest in the pic

When printing too small an area too quickly earlier layers do not have enough time to cool and harden. slow down even more and yes printing a single layer on each widget and moving on would give more cooling time. Or so I have read; my own Bukito should not arrive for another two months.
