progress on control box :slight_smile: started wiring today

Having the VFD nearby the breakout board is not good, try them to share as few wire path as possible to reduce possible interference.VFD create a fair amount of EMI.

the wires will be as far apart as possible

Looks Great!

@Miguel_Sanchez
I did not have a VFD on my mill, but I had EMI issues with the stepper drives. I finally resolved it by optically isolating the step, and direction lines. This is what that noise looked like before I managed to suppress it http://i.imgur.com/JVyX6n5.jpg. That is supposed to be a square wave. But you can see the PWM signal ringing through it. Here’s the circuit I came up with to block that noise http://i.imgur.com/wmbrCVI.png There’s a double inversion taking place, so the signal comes out non-inverted. Plus I like to switch with the current sink too, if I can. So it just pleases me all around. It works a treat too.

Gary you make 6axes Cnc :slight_smile:

Love the wire management trick, thanks for sharing !

No Dennis just 4 that is X, Y1,Y2, Z, A and a spare in case one goes down or a fifth axis in the future. When I purchased the stepper motors I purchased 2 three axis kits because I knew I would need 5 steppers

Gary very nice panel layout. What kind of vfd is that?

Jared El cheapo eBay huanyang vfd I’ve added a longer ribbon cable to the control panel so it can be mounted in the door of the enclosure

waw i request coach adsign design stucture & choose accessory for
cnc i want made my cnc
i start begin technology cnc at the end 2014(new knowledge)
i knowlege 3d design parts & drawing 2d (old knowledge)

After some consideration I have purchased an emi line filter to go between the vfd and the 240v circuit
