Project Desk Declutter is underway
it appears to fit well, now the big question will be the durability! :O)
Printing some laptop PSU holders now so I can come and go with the laptops and have the power lead over the front of the desk. Yet again the pockets have vanished! Maybe itās how Iām selecting the object in FreeCAD for export to STL?
I think I have the same one as the back one. Itās just huge and heavy.
Nice prototype, if you could make the gaps adjustable, you have a beautiful multi-purpose product for sale. Well done.
Nice idea @Glen_Helgeland ā. It would be easy enough to make the bottom bars rails that the vertical pieces slide along allowing you to push them up tight.
I might steal this idea of a PSU holder design, just got a new desk and am still thinking how best to mount all those PSUs to its underside
Be my guest Gina. Itās a simple FreeCAD padded sketch with pockets in one face for screws. I recently did something similar to hide my network switch under the desk too. More space for Maker stuff now
Have you posted the sketch somewhere? Iāve not yet fully figured out FreeCAD, but this might be an excuse to do so
I usually use OpenSCAD for all my modelling needs. Also once designed a PSU bracket for my printer PSU to mount underneath the base plate (TV link since http://youmagine.com is down right now: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:151699), but that was more optimized towards a lack of vertical space, which for underneath desk mounting is not that big of a problem
I like OpenSCAD but some times writing a script for this sort of thing takes longer than a quick sketch in FreeCAD. Iāll pop the FreeCAD file online somewhere for you.
