Holy carp, @Brook_Drumm , where do you find the time!?
This will be a definite must-watch for me!

I saw the ad for it just yesterday, and my first response was “holy crap, was that Brook Drumm?”

Nice, look forward to seeing it.

Yeah, the time investment is frightening. My hope is that it will introduce more people to Printrbot. That can’t be bad, right!?

Bri and I are fascinated by the products we see. We naturally want to help improve them. My heart is always with the Makers and my role, and natural interest, is evaluating the quality of the makers, the idea, the business model… This is all stuff I obsess about. Brian is brilliant and is great evaluating and explaining how things work. It’s a good fit.

In the process, we get to meet incredible people and try to help guide them.

Mostly, it’s a ton of fun. Yes, it’s fun to do a tv show, but these are real people and real products. We play ourselves and speak for ourselves. Getting access to these cool products is fun! And helping people evaluate their products and their business is really fun too. It will be wild to see what people think of it.

One uncomfortable aspect of it all is that Brian, mark and I are actually pretty private people. It’s nerve wracking to let people see who we really are. I have a very intense side but im also a big goof. My goofy part is sure to make the screen. Some may have a hard time reconciling that a goof can run a business. Brian is legit and brilliant, but he worries about what people will think of him too. He needn’t worry. Mark doesn’t really give a crap what people think and is brilliant because nothing clouds his thinking in business. Some will hate him, some will love him. I love him.

All in all, it’s pretty entertaining! I haven’t even seen the finished show yet. I don’t even have cable yet but I’ll have to remedy that. I haven’t seen the commercial myself- but was emailed a shaky cam iphone recording of it :wink:

Again, I hope it all adds up to introducing more people to printrbot. If it’s not good for business, I can’t do it just for fun. I imagine it will good, though.

Brook

"Each episode, in this six-part venture, gives four amateur makers the opportunity to present their homegrown products to a panel comprised of an esteemed engineer, entrepreneur and a business mogul. "

My personal opinion? I don’t think you need their help. :wink: Printrbot is a stand-out among a field of failed printer companies.

@Mike_Miller thanks! I agree, but good PR on a superior product is worth pursuing. Just trying to align the the stars when opportunity knocks.

Is it like a “Shark Tank” for makers?

There are shark tank moments, but also myth buster moments and a bunch of really original stuff too. Fun :wink:

totally missed that one - any chance to see it online?

@Nils_Hitze It hasn’t aired yet.

I forgot to post this yesterday, but I was googling for the listing and saw something that said the show would air on 1/26.
