Question about pulling colours from a video.
I’m looking to capture the changes in colour and brightness from zones in a video and translate it to led strips. I don’t want to rely on the video to run the sketch. I’d rather pull the data I need from the video and turn it into a sketch.
Is anyone doing anything like this?

I had to do this on a movie a couple years ago…I ran a video on a LED wall (a real one) and the DP wanted to accentuate the light that came off that wall with an array of RGB LED theatrical lights…
to accomplish this, I wound up running the video off of a media server that would also allow me to generate a bitmap that the video ran on top of…the bitmap was a grid corresponding to the lighting rig…as the color/intensity changed in that part of the video, it was translate to the bitmap which would send an ARTNET signal to the lighting board which would drive the light…
it was a huge pain in the butt, with some serious minds put together to accomplish, and cost a pretty penny…
of course now we can probably do it with an audrino, some 2812 strips & a RasPi…
