Question about the front assembly on the F1… anyone else have issues pressing the front hub bearings on? I got the bearing package from FastEddy and they are definitely the right size but super tight. I’ve sanded a bit of the axle down and still not going on easily… wondering if anyone else had the same issue.
A bit more sanding should do the trick, you don’t want lose nor too tight, just snug.
By the way, did you print that part in pictured orientation? If so, you may want to reprint on it’s side…otherwise you’ll end up like me with front tires flying off…
Why would the front tires fly off?
@Aaron_Horst If printed in the orientation pictured, layers are more likely to separate since the force/weight is on the shaft from the wheel…make sense?
Did you check the inner diameter of the bearings with a caliber? It is possible that they were mislabeled.
good point +brett turnage, at that point I’d also check the OD of the shaft to see if it printed at the intended diameter…both would be good sanity checks.
@TinkerMake unfortunately it sometimes happens. I got a set of bearings that were supposed to be 5mm bore, but were actually 4mm bore.
Turns out mine were about 1mm shy of the expected diameter, some sandpaper did the trick though
Great to hear @Aaron_Horst , the difference was on the print or on the bearings?
Yeah I had to sand the front edge where it expanded a little, and snapped several putting the bearings on, see my post about them for more details and plans.
