Question for all you guys using Mach3. Wat control board setups are u guys using? I’d like to switch over to Mach3 at some point… Possibly when I upgrade/mod my ox or build a custom cnc i have some ideas for. I’ve done some looking around online and seems there is alternatives to using the parallel port cables and still be able to use Mach3 or I could just get an add-on pic card for my cad/cam/cnc dedicated desktop computer. As of right now price is not an issue as I’m still just looking and compiling possible options for components. Any info or links would be great thanks

A smooth stepper will also be a good option.

Was thinking about a kit like this with the smooth stepper option. http://www.cncrouterparts.com/4-axis-digital-diy-nema-23-electronics-kit-p-75.html anyone have any experience with this setup?

I have used the old kit with the G540 and felt it was good value and very easy to use. The new kit looks good but I have not personally used the new drives so can’t comment as to their performance but on paper it looks good too.

@Travis_Messamer ESS or a UCCNC will work with that setup.

I have a PCIe parallel port card I can give you if you want it.

@Jace_Richardson ​ that would be awesome. The grbl type control software is pretty sparse in terms on functions and would like to get away from it soon.

Let me take a photo of it - I don’t use windows computers anymore so please make sure it’ll fit before I send it over - PCIe doesn’t fit in a PCI slot as far as I know.

I have pcie slots in my computer but a pic would allow confirmation… Or a link to info on it or both would be awesome
