Question to all those Openminden OpenRCs out there: does anyone know of any Opensource “Roomba’s” or projects of that kind? Yes I mean vacuumcleaning-robots! Thanks for sharing any links…

There are some with open source electronics, or hacked electronics. But I have never seen open source hardware.

Depends on what you want a vacuum robot to do? :wink:
An imaging camera that recognizes dust would be neat, and if you combine it with a way to track the position in a 3D model of the room, you could detect where the room gets most dirty and do a faster, more optimized daily sweep. Useful? Well…
Synchronizing it with a calendar to only work when you are not a home would not be hard to do, and pretty useful if you have a varied schedule.
