Quick couple of hour design in #FreeCAD I got fed up of the spool clamp I had on the #FB2020 Printers, it was more clamp than spooler >_<. This should be frictionless as it runs on 4 608ZZ bearings. It should work on any 2020 Aluminium Extrusion printer. Just needs 100mm+ of M8 Threaded rod, 2 M8, 14mm Nuts and 4 608ZZ. It’ll be up on the FB2020 GitHub shortly and I’m going to throw it separately up on Thingiverse as I think it’s a pretty good stand-alone piece.

How thick is the clamp section that goes on the extrusion? It looks a bit light-duty.
3mm… Print it at high infill and it’s fine.
did you look at the Low Friction spool holder for UM2? It has this nice threading mechanism and handle for removing the spool.
@Marcus_Wolschon - I’ve seen a few, but I’ve not seen that one.
I’m currently modifying the design to measure the weight of these remaining filament.
Ah, I did see that one, looked a bit on the complicated side. Looking again, it’s not a bad design, I would have liked to have the outside of mine as the clamping side, but I ran into issues with it being too tight.
