Quick Question regarding prusa multi color prints.

I’ve sliced a print for multi color.

I uploaded it to the Prusa ColoPrint online utility.

However, It says select layer for the color change. but i don’t know if that means the last layer of the first color, or the first layer of the 2nd color.

For example.

In Slicer. The change i want is between the layers 2.6 and 2.8.

So in Color Print. Do i select 2.6 or 2.8? It doesn’t specify.

A quick response would be helpful. thank you all.

You select the layer height you want the printer to change colors. So you would select 2.6 mm, then it would print the rest of the print up to 2.8 mm in the second color.

You have two types of multi material prints: The one where you pause the print and replace the spool. (the online method). And the method whereby the extruder switches materials and continues itself (the multi material slicing)

@jochen_vleugels That’s still in beta release. I doubt someone on their beta would be asking the community for help instead of going right to their support.

Yeah, I should have said mm not layers. But the issue is the same.

The slicer shows 2.6mm as the layer that will be the final layer of the first color. With 2.8mm being the next layer that will be the first of the next color.

Problem is the color print utility makes me select a single height in mm. So does it want the 2.6 as the last layer of the first color, or 2.8 as the first color of the next color?

It doesn’t have any numbers between those so @Lukas_Mathis , I don’t know how I’d do that.

So if you’re printing at 0.2 mm layer height and your last layer of color one is from 2.6 mm to 2.8 mm, you should select 2.8 mm to be the height of the color change

Thank you @Adam_Steinmark .
