Quick test fit of new y axis using the leftover stock x rods I have laying around, while the rest of the bearing blocks print. It quickly becomes clear how much more rod this mod needs for the Y travel.
Hmmm. I’ve not seen that head. Mine doesn’t have what I assume is a fan duct on yours.
The rest of mine is the same, and it is WELL worth the effort! I’m sure I’m getting less Y axis droop with this guy, and I have the option of extending the reach.
The fan duct was recently added (April 2nd) to the item on thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:242185
It’s there to support the same kind of fan install that the stock wood 2014 simple that ships with the aluminum extruder.
I’m not getting much Y drop now, I just want a longer Y and something that isn’t installed with zip ties (as surprisingly strong as they are)
Shout, Just saw that there was multiple revision… I printed the
ExtendYPlate.STL (Last updated: 14-02-09), I think I should have printed the ExtendYPlateRevC.stl one…
