Quick tip for those interested in 3Dprinting POM/Acetal or Delrin but have problems finding

Quick tip for those interested in 3Dprinting POM/Acetal or Delrin but have problems finding a decent material to print on.

Some print on “masonite board” which is compressed wood fibres. They are compressed using high pressure together with a binding substance. That substance is called lignin. So while sticking fairly well to “Masonite board” it´s not the actual board it sticks to but the Lignin.
So what else contains Lignin?
Well, BioFila Silk filament by “TwoBears” contains a high level of lignin and therefore sticks to POM/Acetal very well, almost to good actually.
I have printed 4mm plates in BioFila to print POM/Acetal on aswell as first printing a Raft of Biofila and then POM/Acetal on top.
But, the two filaments adheres almost two well to each other and on top of that i want a clean bottom surface.

So instead i use a thin layer of Cascol Wood glue on a heated (120C) glass bed. In my opinion this works very well. When applying a higher degree of infill and more perimiters i use a brim to keep the part down.
Of course the more infill used the more the part will contract and as POM/Acetal being a highly crystalline polymer it´s going to shrink no matter what. That said, POM/Acetal is not for everyone, while it´s a interesting material it will most probably still be a pain to print and on top of that it can produce formaldehyde if overheated (i print at 205C) so use with care!
