Quick update on ongoing work; experimenting with lead-screw drive for shapeoko; I wanted to do a cost effective upgrade to lead-screw drive which could be easily added to existing shapeoko (or remove and go back if needed). All the plates are made with the shapeoko itself. From the pictures, the HDPE parts are final cut, MDF will be aluminium except for lead-screw-nut plate, it will be HDPE. The lead-screw is M8 with a anti-backlash delrin nut. This is only x-axis, y-axis will be similar and x2 for dual drive. This will end up being the Shapeoko 0735 Evolution Mark II (S0735EM2). Next version M III (S0735EM3) I will go for high-end bearing linear slides and ball-screw drive.
