Ray Wu is pretty good, but remember, you're still buying minimum-effort goods from China.

I wish I’d inspected these better before releasing payment.

And this is why you should always thoroughly inspect anything electrical that you buy from China.

Whoopsie! Good catch.

Ray has made me a few things recently, and happily they’ve all been perfect. But as you said it always pays to check

I have had several screw up from his store, stopped using him after the second time

I kind of take the “long view”. If I take all my “minimum-effort goods”, and average my overall spending by the amount of Working product, it still comes out as a good deal. But that’s coming from someone with more time than money, and no customers to complain when something fails.

@Leon_Yuhanov , which vendor do you use now? How does their failure rate compare to Ray’s?

@allanGEE I generally agree, as I’m mostly in the same boat. It’s frustrating when working under time constraints, though.

@Luminous_Elements these guys http://www.tyrialight.com/ are good but only after you are explain EXACTLY what you want. They are on par about $1USD more expensive than most. I also use http://www.szledcolor.com/ for SK9822 they are well priced and their strips are A+ so far. I order all everything in 50cm strips(so that there are no dodgy joins) with no termination cables(also waste of my time desoldering) and they are very accommodation. usually at my door in Melbourne 6 business days after payment

@Luminous_Elements Hello, maybe you could get WorldSemi’s newest part WS2813 for a tial.

Szledcolor is excellent. I ordered a custom led matrix panel with APA102 in the past and new sk9822 LEDs. Quality and service ist very good in compare to Ray. Before I ordered everything for leds in rays store. Had some issues last two orders, so I decided to switch. Maybe next order I try ray again - we will see.
