REALLY rapid prototyping. Got an idea yesterday morning. Had the model in 20 minutes, version 1.0 in an hour, printed version 2.0 the next morning. There doesn’t need to be a version 3.0. New carriage holds the nozzle firmly, is dimensionally shorter (I now have a 240mm, 290mm, 350mm envelope)
And there was no fiddling with the rest of the printer. The critical dimension (XY rod separation) was perfect.

I tell Ya, this “idea to physical part” thing is making me giddy.

Mike I see your using clear ABS, have you been able to increase your clarity/transparency? Because I get the same “frosty” looking result as I see in this photo.

I’ve had some luck with transparency close to the heated bed, but haven’t played with parameters enough to see if I could get it clear.

@Mike_Miller My next attempt will be with what they advertize as “Transparent filament” I have not used this type yet. the project I am working on, the more transparent the part, the better for my application.

yeah, there’s definitely some cool stuff out there. I’ll be reprinting my phone case in an irridescent green on glass due to the optical effects. (I didn’t have glass available to print on until just recently.)

@Mike_Miller Grin, yeah I have been printing on glass for about a year and a half now, it’s Soo much better than say blue painters tape. :O)
