Received my shiny new printer the other day - XMachines Lorei Duo

this was a kickstarter reward; recently started shipping and selling on amazon

dual extruder and 1 cubic foot build volume

i’m actually a bit of a newbie here; my first print came out pretty good i think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTKbbLBGdC0

i’m hoping to print some stuff from “thingmaker design” this weekend - a bunch (15+) of small parts, each in one color but some red and some black. i want to print them all at once (some parts with tool0 and others with tool1). i’m told i could easily do this with simplify3D but i haven’t bought that… does anyone know how to do this with cura?

Even though the attached link is specific to the BCN3D Sigma, it is focused on the Cura software and is not restricted to the one printer:

Congratulations on being a recipient of a successful Kickstarter campaign. They seem to be more risky than ever as of late.

thanks for the link - when i get this working i’ll be sure to post some results

and for kickstarters: yeah, i actually funded 2 of them to hedge my bets. this one (XMachines Lorei) and the Tiko. Already received this printer and now it looks like the Tiko is almost certainly going to be a success (first 1k units shipped from China, heading for Canada today). go figure i hedged and will end up with two printers! all the same, the reality is that most kickstarters flop, especially so on 3D printers. i’m certain i got very lucky here.

I didn’t and wouldn’t use the expression “most fail,” but too many campaigns, 3d printers or otherwise, get enough bad media coverage to make it difficult to have an entirely positive outlook regarding crowdfunding. I’m a “super backer” on Kickstarter, which also means I’m a “super-loser” as well. In the 3d printer realm, I’ve backed a loser, I’ve backed a winner and I have one out yet unresolved/incomplete. As with many things, time will tell.
