Red white and blue! Glimmer the mermaid tail rev 2 is almost done.

Red white and blue! Glimmer the mermaid tail rev 2 is almost done. A bit more glue and then I might do a swim test at the lake over the holiday weekend.

Nice!
And I love the all the little design details on the tail, the little curls and waves.

I need to figure out how to video LEDs and have it come out even half as pretty as the real thing. Probably it’s something like ā€œdon’t use your iPhoneā€

Turn the brightness of the LEDs down to around 15, otherwise it just burns out your phone’s sensor
.

@Erin_St_Blaine I posted tips for video camera capture and @Mark_Kriegsman commented on that post for details about how to capture video of leds on an iPhone. I hope this helps. https://plus.google.com/104334327487374225406/posts/4hLXE7BWpxp

That’s SUPER helpful. This community is so awesome.

My wife (a demon sewer!) thinks your tail is awesome and asked if iyou have a specific purpose in mind

I am a professional entertainer and I do mermaid kids shows and random appearances (wineries and casinos and such). I don’t have anything specifically lined up for the glimmer tail but once I get it working consistently I’ll do some marketing videos and who knows what the universe will toss my way? http://www.firepixie.com/mermaids

Wow! I didn’t realise it was waterproof. That’s really special.

:). It’s swimmable. Yesterday I took it down to 10’ and had no leaks. I have another flicker / short somewhere I need to track down but on the whole its mostly working underwater. Huge sigh of relief. (If it didn’t need to be swimmable it would have been finished MONTHS ago)
