Reset/Endstop Short

While in a hurry I used a screwdriver to reset the board and accidentally touched the the Z Max power pin to the reset button.
When they touched i saw a small spark and the board went quiet.

Now all i have is the 3.3v led on under USB power and 3.3v & VBB when connected to the PSU.
All 4 green LED’s are very very dimly lit and solid.

I’ve tried unplugging everything and formatting the SD card (with current and original files).

Everything was working correctly up to this point, i was only making a max speed change to the config file.

The board is a 5X and the PSU is running at ~12v and it has a 5v reg installed

Any ideas on what could’ve fried? Or at least where to start looking.

Hey.

Really sorry about that, I’m always very sad when I hear this happens to a board. Hope you didn’t need to use it for anything urgent.

The “use a plastic screwdriver for reset” is actually a good catch, I’ve seen it in other product’s documentation and I think it’s missing from Smoothieboard’s, I’ll add it now.

About your board : it’s very likely your microcontroller is dead. If you know how to, you could try replacing it.
