@Sanjay_Mortimer Pictures of my new Chimera - is it normal that the top holes are not tapped? The back three holes are tapped. Pictures attached show my top and back holes, untapped and tapped respetively. Images on the assembly from E3D website appears to show the top is tapped. Colour me confused.
If any other Chimera owners can chime in on the holes of their heat sink that would be great. I’m not sure how to mount Chimera at this point.
The heatsink I have they’re tapped. Best option is to get a M3 tap from the hardware store. That’s a bummer
@Mike_Kelly_Mike_Make thanks for the info
Oops! I have spoken to our machinist about this and we are investigating why this has happened - to my knowledge it hasn’t happened to anyone else.
Unfortunately at the moment we have negative stock of these so I can’t just put one in the post for you as quickly I would have liked - it may mean waiting >2 weeks. Are you able to tap the holes yourself?
In exchange for the hassle I have given you some credit on our store.
Thanks @Joshua_Rowley I did manage to tap the holes myself - mostly. The two forward holes were fine because of the heat sink fins, the rear one was not deep enough for my tap to go deep enough, so the bolt in that hole sticks out a bit. It works for now I guess!
