“Scout” is a 3D Printed RC Car that uses the “Flutter” wireless platform, but lets be serious - you can throw whatever receiver you want in the thing.
This is heads and tails more accessible than @Daniel_Noree 's more finished design, using readily available bearings, printed rods, as well as being smaller and thus able to fit on more beds.
That is cool. I wanted something small enough with which I could taunt the cats and the ability to print replacement parts will come in handy when they throw it down the stairs.
I definitely want to make improvements. I have sketched out a design I think will work for a differential, and am looking at linkages that can handle drive, steering, and suspension so I can make a 4wd full suspension version.
The motor is super powerful and I expect it to work well for larger vehicles. I think for fun a 4wd vehicle might have two of those motors, and I am planning a motor controller that can drive these motors at very low speed for something like a rock crawler. I love open source and want to make more useful things with Free/Libre licenses!
@Ritchie_Wilson Your boards will ship in the next month or two, I’m writing the next update now with lots of info!
If anyone has any questions, please ask. I’d love to see some more Scout vehicles produced around the world!
