Seems to have a 3d printer option , very interesting

MODULARIZE ALL THE THINGS!!!

I don’t think this I enough for a 3d printer though, as it appears to be a miniaturized uno. Printers need something closer to a mega.

@Eric_Moy I though so too but they have a core- (uno) and a core+ ( mega) price difference $2.00

@Eric_Moy They have two options. The Microduino-Core+ is like a Mega2560.

Ah, nice. So it has potential, but honestly, the sang board I have is already so small I have a hard time plugging stuff into its headers

Yes, but the also have carrier boards to embiggenate the thing into a traditional arduino size.

@Phil_Hord saw http://phonebloks.com?

@Rene_K_Mueller I hate to be a skeptic, but I imagine a fully modular cell phone will end up being huge. The design requires a huge amount of packaging overhead simply for connections and interfaces. And cost will be through the roof. The whole reason cell phones are so cheap is that they integrate as many features into a single chip, and they mass produce their boards. Making a phone ala carte will be like comparing a desktop computer to a laptop. They can probably make it somewhat small, but not very low cost. Also, connections are a reliability issue, so may be a lot of troubleshooting involved. But hey, I wish them luck. I hope they prove me wrong as it would be a game changer if it worked. They’ve been talking about doing the same thing for cars for a good decade though.

@Eric_Moy yes, there are a lot of challenges, but I really want to see more modular systems for so many “throw away” devices, and the basis and strategies can come from such Arduino projects as well. See also https://plus.google.com/u/0/s/phonebloks with several discussions.

I guess I need a Coca-Cola can with 3D printer option.

Where can you get 3 nanos for $11? Best I could find was just under $9 each.
