serial driver buggy?

I recently got a problem that suddenly when i homed my delta, alpha and gamma would move up normal speed but Beta was just limping up a little bit…
And when all was homed i could move down 10cm (all moved) but when jogging up again A and B moved normal, but G would just move a couple of cm for each homing command OR normal jogging. Strange that only 2 towers needed to be homed for the harwdare to think it was ok.

If i jogged all down, rebooted computer and reset the smoothie, the very first homing worked as normal, then after that it was whacked again.
Every time the computer was restarted the result was the same: ONE homing worked, all the following failed.
I tried with both simplify3d and repetierhost, both showed same symptoms. I was getting really frustrated as to what the problem was.

Then i got the idea of removing the serial driver and reinstalling it. After reinstalling all was ok again…

So, is there some bug in the serialdriver i have found, or is it a known bug?

What we call the “driver” is just a text file that tells Windows "hey stupid ! you already have a Serial driver, use that instead of telling the user the board is not supported ! ", it does nothing else, and it can’t really be messed up …

This looks like an intermittent problem with wiring, so it may come back …
