SFE carries those through hole WS2812 LEDs for $2.95 for a 5-pack. (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12877) Adafruit appears to be out of stock and they’re $2 more.
If only for 5 mm, but this is definitely useful.
I’m keeping an eye out for these to start popping up on aliexpress.

adafruit supposely carry the 5mm clear through hole. I purchase 25 to play with. I got 100 of the 8mm through Smurai Circuits, but they’ve been out of stock online for a while.
