I suspect some people may recognize this part
Hah, knew it immediately as I saw it. That’s a reprap wallace part. Not to be confused with wally. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14208
You are correct, you win lunch and a sleigh ride.
Sure, taunt me for not having Wallace 2 ready
Instead of being inspired by the printrbot, Wallace 2 will look (by default) much more like a cross between the Bukobot and an i3, but far more configurable and customizable than either. It will be a far more robust machine than the original Wallace, but should be easier to assemble (no structural threaded rods!) and not cost much more to build.
I would be interested to see that. When might it be available?
When I get off my ass and finish it
Most of my printer design effort has gone into the Bukito recently, but here are some of the posts where I previewed what I was working on for Wallace 2:

Video not working for me. Looks like you are using profile this time. I was going to go that route before but in a cube fashion so the build plate was the Z . I changed to this for my first one instead. After that then who knows.
I made the decision when I started Wallace 2 that it would strictly be a Mendel-style layout, but that the axes would be unprecedentedly modular. Making these modular axes reconfigurable into other cartesian layouts (or the linear portions of a delta, for that matter) is the goal for Wallace 3.
Part of the reason I haven’t worked on Wallace 2 as much is that I’ve been spending time thinking about ideas that I can’t implement until Wallace 3.
thanks for wallace - this post made me to switch from building second prusa to try something different
almost same vitamins - already in printing queue.
