Slowly advancing my build as time permits. Today had a couple of hours and got to the heated bed installation. However hit some bumps and left it like that for now. Maybe i’ll get some advice until I get some more time to work on it.
There are two issues:
-
Although the Z-Plate is at exactly 100mm from the back feet, as requested by the manual, it seems that the plastic part that mounts the PSU is not positioned so that the PSU is flush with Z-Plate as it should have. Instead, if I mount the PSU on that plastic part first, I get this large gap to the Z-Plate, | say in excess of 2-3mm. While the top side of the PSU will easily be pulled towards the Z-Plate because of the plastic parts that give anough, the lower side is very difficult to get closer to the Z-Plate and I am afraid that the Z-Plate will not be stiff enough to force it towards it but will flex/skew a tiny bit instead.

Now this is pretty strange… while the short side of the square is perfectly in line with the Y-axis grid, the X-grid line seems a bit off. I made sure the square touches the Z-Plate on both sides perfectly. If I modify the distance of the right side (in this picture) to resolve that misalignment, I will throw off the other side which seems square. I don’t understand hoe this is possible. Calibrating this thing will be a nightmare…
