HELP Please…
I have purchased the AWC-708C DSP controller and have set it up as per the smoothie site, Problem can not get the laser to fire. On the power supply the IN pin is driven the smoothie PWM which per my scope is working but no firing. When I press the fire test button laser fires, and ALSO when I take TL to ground also the laser fires.
Can any one tell me if I need to use the PWM pin only or use the PWM + TL together ie using the TL as an enable pin… If I need to drive both the PWM + TL what pin on smoothie do I use?
The new AWC708 is same as the 608 for all practical purposes .

You generally want to tie TL to ground, and use IN to control power and on/off.
Tried connecting TL to ground but when I did that the laser fired non stop,
Using the Smoothie is the best option for me and not the AWC DSP. I got the AWC DSP working it connects to the TL pin and also the PWM.
When I conected smoothie up I used only the PWM, I can try again connecting TL to ground and PWM p2.5 … Is the PWM 3.3v or TTL?
If TL fires the laser it’s possible it’s because your PWM signal is left floating, or needs to be inverted.
Please try with TL to ground, and PWM to Smoothie. If it always fires when doing it this way, try inverting the laser pin in Smootihe ( add a ! to the pin number ).
Smoothie is all 3.3V
