Hi All…
OK. I have received my Smoothieboard and I am in the process of getting it set up. The Documentation provided for setting up a 3D printer is great and I have a Lot of stuff set up and running. I have the three Axis working as well as the extruder motor…
I am currently running Pronterface as my host software but I would like to run Repetier Host. (temporarily any way) So my first question under this thread is this… What is the Secrete to getting Repetier Host to recognise the Smoothie board and Firmware. It Connects but there is no control over the Steppers. Is there a setting in the Config file that identifies the type of Host software??
Pronterface worked Out-of-the-Box…
Thanks in advance…
Rick

Hi !
If pronterface works, Repetier should work no problem, so my guess is there is some kind of problem with your Repetier configuration, but I don’t know much about repetier …
Cheers
Hi Sir… thanks for the reply….
Well I am not going to pursue the Repetier until later so it is not an issue but thanks for the reply.
I do have some other issues that I need to address, however.

Ok next issue….
Well it appears that I may have a ‘Partially’ bad board. After getting the Stepper motors running I proceeded with the next step which was to get the HOT End/Thermistor pair working.
I choose to use the Mixed Set of MOSFETS so that I would not have to run any additional power to the Large or Small MOSFET pairs. I chose to use the Large MOSFET to drive the HOT END and I used the default T0 Thermistor Pins.
Well I could not get the Large MOSFET to ‘Turn on’ as was indicated by the lack of power at the output and by the lack of a LED indicator. (Yes I changed the configuration to use Pins 0.23) I then switched to the smaller MOSFET and was successful in getting it to work…
So… what is the Repair/Return Policy??
I assume the other MOSFET ports will work ( have not tried them ) but it would be nice to have a completely functioning board. Please let me know what my alternatives are.
Thanks in advance.
Rick
