Smoothieware keeps hanging

I have had smoothieware running for a while now. I have 3 different hardware boards and they all do the same thing.
Works fine printing from SD Card.
I do run the Viki2 display

But if i am connected to it from the built in web browser, will randomly hangs.
If i have a octopi connected via the ethernet port it also hangs. I also have tried disabling the Webserver.
If i have astro print connected it via usb port it hangs.

Trying to copy a gcode file either by usb or ethernet port is very slow.

I have seen a number of other posts of people having hanging issues whist communicated through the webserver.
But as i mentioned i experienced hanging through USB Port as well.

Are these a issues still to be addressed?
Is the a cpu / hardware limitation?

Would like to so info on this either i know to wait and be patient, get different hardware, or wait for faster hardware.
or there is some setting i can change to address this.

Are you trying to access or reload the web interface while printing ? Does it only crash when printing, or also when not printing ? If you can reliably make it crash, could you see if a error message displays in pronterface’s console while connected via USB ?

Ok i see you started looking at this post from March.

I cam to the conclusion after much testing and trying different scenarioa that it keeps hanging by its self if you have access to the web interface.

Putting it simply, Turn on my printer, do nothing, print nothing other than home all axis, leave the printer turned on.

Go to my pc access the smoothie webserver, leave window open, dont click anything, then go to bed.
get up in the morning and smoothie is hung, no response, all i can do is reset the moothie or turn it of and on again.
At that point after verifying this several times i gave up on it.

I was running mainly on the azteeg board, also tried on a sbase board and a genuine smoothie board (this was on loan) all the same result.

I started to investigate this problem when i had many stalled prints.

In Fact, when i purchased my first board, was a SBase board, this was hanging, reading early on i know you do not think much of the SBase boards,
i went and purchased the Azteeg X5GT board with 2660 bigfoots, their display, ethernet and thermocouple, purchased this at the time i could not find a smoothie board to be sent to me in a reasonable time, so i bought the azteeg as that seemed to be a well built board.
This also exhibited the same issues. a few months later, one 3d printer manufacturer built a larger printer with the smoothie board, guess what, same issues…

Arthur believe me when i say i respect and understand the time you have spent on this, i generally don’t like forums as most posts get hijacked into other meaningless topics and bitch fights.
I am quite happy to discuss issues offline as this will just turn negative.
I am more than happy to discuss issues and suggestions from end users point and hopefully you can take them on board and address some issues.

So, one thing : we have reports of boards hanging in normal use for both the Azteeg boards ( because of the external ethernet PHY which is bad design ) and the MKS ( because of well documented bad routing/design ). Smoothieboard doesn’t have those issues as it was designed correctly, and we do not have ( out of tens of thousands of users ) any ( as far as I was informed ) reports of Smoothieboards used correctly that hang due to network activity.
So your problem is a first, and we need to investigate it to understand if it comes from a hardware or software fault, or some other ( specific to you ) factor.

Would you mind making a video showing both the board and the web interface screen before and after a crash ? That would be incredibly useful.

About the “post from March”, I have been unusally busy, and while I have these past years maintained close to a 100% answering rate on the forum, your post and some others fit in a 15 days period where I couldn’t answer email/posts, and the notices for those forum posts are still in my unread emails, waiting to be answered when I finally catch up to it.
