So after ditching the preconfigured Smartrap firmware I have switched over to the stock marlin. My problem is that for some reason I am getting a temperature reading of 22c when the hotend is at 0c. Anyone know what the issue could be?

I have the parameters for my jhead lite v2 set in configuration h but I am still getting a false reading.

Your hotend temp shouldn’t ever be 0 degrees C unless that is what the room temperature is at.

But my room is definitely not 22c. Could it just be that it is a little off in terms of reading? My room is about 16c

The thermistors are set up to be more precise around their normal operating temperatures, and they may loose some precision around room temperature because they don’t need to know those temperatures precisely. 22C vs 16C sounds like a larger discrepancy than I would expect to see, but it may be correct. Make sure that your firmware is configured to use the thermistor you’re actually using, they’re not interchangeable.

Ok so should I just put it up at 190c and see if it’s melting PLA ok?

@Griffin_Paquette most likely you have the wrong thermistor chosen in the firmware. 6 degrees off is strange.

I know it’s the right thermistor. I checked. But it’s actually off about 4c. Sorry! Is that still too far off?

You have to choose the right thermistor table in Marlin. If the table and your thermistor do not match, your readings are allways off!

No it is correct. I’ve checked

If you are shure about that, I wouldn’t worry.
Go print.

Ok. I’ll try it.
