So far so good !
Don jinx it, man!
Hmmm the calibration angles in theory 50mm x 50mm.
The one I just printed all 3 do about 49.4mm on the Y side but 52.5mm on the X side.
Maybe there are some adjustements to be made…
Did you re-calibrate the steps? There was a slight difference between the fishing line and belts. My X axis went down to 80.65 from 83.
I love to see my designs hacked! If it ain’t broke- mod it!! My hat is off to all you tweakers and modders out there!
Brook
@Tim_Sills I’ll try that tomorrow. Getting late here on the east coast.
@Brook_Drumm The @Printrbot Simple is so an awesome unit to hack on. When I get the X axis extension stable I plan on doing the Y axis extension mod. I have to say that the Simple was a great investment for me.
Looking good!
@Andre_Courchesne1 your off set might be down to debris on the belt. I had a tiny sliver of pla that had dropped onto one side and kept riding under the gear.
@Brook_Drumm …speaking of hacks… are there any plans to sell the metal simple kit without electronics?
@Tim_Sills Where do you set/change the X steps in Repetier/Slic3r ?
@Tim_Sills I think I found it using the GCode M92 is this the right way to do it ?
Yes, use M92 to enter the new value and then M500 to write to memory. Use M501 to read the memory and validate it.
@Andre_Courchesne1 If you’d prefer a UI there is a menu option to display and edit the EEPROM. This will let you edit all of your steps/mm and acceleration settings.

@Tim_Sills That did the trick. Using X79.77 right now. And the X side of the calibration angle prints at 50.01mm !
My next mod will either be larget Y printing of an Z-probe adapter… Leaning toward the Z-probe as it’s always a pain to calibrate…
