Moves smoothly**
Ya the center row of his helmet has always drove me nuts. It’s like off by like 2-3 LEDs on the rotation. I understand why his helmet is split though.
@Alec_Luce just started my mellohead. looking through your code was pretty intense. im going to be using apa102 leds im wanting to do a function similar taking on the idea of marshmello helmet. also, i believe the leds on the bottom rotate to the left and the top rotates to the right.
@Ryan_Black You are correct The leds on the bottom move to the left and the top to the right. I chose to do it this way not because it was easier but because I thought it looked better. In a way it kind of makes it mine.
Im going to take on the task of the opposite rotating ends eventually but for now…this works.
also Mellogang! where do you live? Im here in michigan, last year I saw mister mello among other acts i want to say 5 times.
3 festivals and 2 local shows. Every single time I go there I see these like super low budget versions of the head, which I respect, but I decided with a little bit of effort I could totally make one super close.
If this is your first project id look into making a mini one. like a 6"x6"x 1/8th

@Alec_Luce I live in dallas. I’ve seen him once at sunset music festival in Tampa. Haven’t had another Chance to see him though, i am going to see him in may for middlelands though. BTW i think your mini head led pattern is better than his. I personally don’t like the middle line the pattern creates on his. There is a tutorial on YouTube that someone made with v2 in the title. It’s a good tutorial but following his items is going to cost alot. I plan on spending 400$+ just for this project. Some of that money could of been advoided.
@Alec_Luce Also you should check out ip67 grade leds they come in a clear shield that would be great for hot glueing the leds inside the head which is what I’m doing. Also I’m using APA102 60/m LEDS
