So i built it and only have 3 machines to try it on. A 1up a 2up oe my kossel mini (bowden) should i try bowden first or direct drive? #printrbot #gearhead
Why are you not using the newer parts? I have modified the new parts for a Bowden tube but haven’t tried printing with it yet.
well it arrived today i downloaded the printrbot stl off of youmagine and printed it. where is your files i’ll dl and print tomorrow
There are V2 parts on youmagine. I will upload my modified version and send you a link when I get home in the morning.
lol even with the first version it has crazy strong gripping power
Keep in mind you printed the first rev. There is a second rev to add a bearing on the front of the motor shaft. The back motor shaft bearing pocket is optional. We are working on the injection molded part to perfect the design. The distance between the gears is so critical, any variance in the final printed part could cause problems. It’s funny, this is the first 3d printed, open source part design that needs such exact tolerances to perform correctly that it may not print successfully on all printers. Not to say that adjustments couldn’t be made to correct any issues.

Well i was just excited to play and didn’t check youmagine since i originally downloaded the first stl. First impression though is 2 thumbs up cannot wait to get the new parts printed
Here are the parts. I just modified them to incorporate a Bowden. Hole is made to fit a 8/32 nut.
