So I caught an article over on Ars (http://arstechnica.com/cars/2016/10/cheaper-faster-lighter-3d-printed-car-parts-are-now-a-thing/ ) and it got me thinking about Apple.

Apple excels in making things out of Aluminum. They have tens of thousands of multi-axis CNC mills to do so…so much so that there are manufacturers that do nothing BUT make mills for Apple.

What’s going to happen to the company that does the same thing with SLS printers? The one that does the math and says “I’m going to corner the market making and do so by buying out all of the SLS printers the industry can make.”

That company that buys up all the SLS printers will be doing very well until a better manufacturing technology comes along and wipes them off the map.

Well like Apple you would need to have a mass production of a product which lends itself to be crafted using this specific manufacturing method.

So…spacex?
