So I converted my prusa i2 to a prusa i3 boxed frame (mainly due to the lack of mounting space on the single plates according to @ThantiK ) and so far so good. i gained alot of z hight

That was the biggest thing I got when converting. Used the same rods, and built mine with rod lengths in mind and I got massive gains in Z height. You’ve got lots of places to mount on the inside and outside of that box too.

Yeah the parts i printed originally mounted on the outside of the box. My smooth rods weren’t long enough so with some snips i modified the pieces and moved them inward 10mm.
